Quickly rearrange your dock!
Okay, so this is really an extension of the tip about the keyboard shortcut for the Dock (Ctrl-F3 or Fn-Ctrl-F3). I started using it a lot and I discovered that you can also use this shortcut to move applications around on the Dock. Once you used the same key combination, you can move the icons around with "Alt-left or right arrow" (or Option instead of Alt if you prefer, same thing really!).

Nice tip; but only works with alt here... not with the option key.
Alt and Option are the same key. Some people prefer to call it Option however. MacGeek
The keyboard tips for moving items around in the dock and along the menu bar are really useful.
Keep up the good work.

These are indeed great tips. Did you notice that once you have done Ctrl-F3, you can open the Dock menu for an app by pressing the left or right arrow key? This is particularly useful for Dock items that are there pretty much for their menu, like the "Bookit Dock Menu".
I could not get the rearrange the dock tip to work until I realized that my non-standard dock placement has something to do with it. I keep my dock on the right of my screen... Vertical instead of horizontal. When I switched to using option-up arrow and option-down arrow, then it worked fine. Cool!
p.s. Most long time Mac users are used to calling the alt/option key the option key, (it wasn't called the alt key until more recently in Mac history). I recommend you refer to it as either the option key or the option/alt key in the future to avoid confusion.
